Why somatic therapy? Why the Triple Vagal Method?

Somatic therapy offers a deeper, more holistic approach to healing by honoring the profound connection between the mind and body. While traditional talk therapy provides an essential space for reflection, insight, and processing through words, somatic therapy recognizes that some experiences - particularly trauma and chronic stress - are also stored in the body. By addressing these physical imprints, somatic therapy enhances the healing process in ways that words alone sometimes cannot. At the heart of this body-based approach is the Triple Vagal Method™ (TVM) - a gentle, non-invasive somatic technique that focuses on the vagus nerve, a critical component of the autonomic nervous system. The vagus nerve helps regulate our stress responses, and TVM works with this system to help shift the body out of states of overwhelm, anxiety, or shutdown and into a calm, grounded state. Unlike other somatic methods, TVM does not rely on movement or breathwork, making it especially accessible for individuals who might feel overwhelmed by more physically demanding techniques or even by talk therapy when words feel out of reach. Its unique focus on oxytocin production—the hormone responsible for safety and connection—adds another layer of healing. By combining vagus nerve stimulation with precise touch techniques, TVM activates oxytocin receptor sites, fostering feelings of safety and trust while calming the nervous system. What makes TVM so powerful is its adaptability. Whether used as a standalone practice or alongside talk therapy, it offers a compassionate way to release long-held trauma, improve emotional resilience, and reconnect with the body’s inherent capacity to heal. By blending the science of the vagus nerve, the power of oxytocin, and the wisdom of somatic therapy, TVM offers a restorative path to well-being. It doesn’t aim to replace talk therapy but to expand the possibilities for healing. Together, these approaches remind us that the journey to wellness is multidimensional - honoring both the mind and the body.

About Me

Hello, I’m Tailor. I’m a trained facilitator of the somatic therapy the Triple Vagal Method (TVM) and hold a 200-hour yoga teacher certification. Over the past five years, I have embarked on a journey of self-discovery and healing, working to overcome chronic health issues, anxiety, and substance use challenges that have been present since I was 15. Despite exploring various healing modalities, I always felt like something was missing and I could never get to the root of my problems. Discovering somatic therapy has been the key to understanding my traumas and has allowed me to get to places inside myself that I hadn’t been able to reach before. It has supported me in achieving sobriety, learning to feel my emotions and build true inner intimacy with my complex inner world. This approach showed me how important the mind-body connection is and has allowed me to navigate the world in a way I’ve never experienced before. This has ignited my passion for sharing this work with others and becoming a guiding force for those embarking on their own healing journeys. I currently offer one-on-one sessions, trainings for the modality, and more. I’m excited to help you optimize your nervous system, elevate your self-respect and love, and guide you on an incredible journey of transformation and self-sovereignty!
